SEC may green-light Bitcoin ETF options
Positive changes are brewing in the crypto world! According to Bloomberg analysts, the US may see the introduction of options on spot Bitcoin ETFs by the end of 2024.
Last week, Cboe submitted a revised application to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the creation of options on BTC ETFs. The new document outlines methods to address market manipulation concerns, including a cap on the maximum amount that can be invested in a single contract. According to Bloomberg currency analyst James Seyffart, these amendments suggest that regulators have provided Cboe with specific guidelines. This indicates long-awaited progress, the expert believes.
Bloomberg analysts predict that Bitcoin-ETF options will be launched before the US presidential election on November 5, 2024. Shortly thereafter, the SEC may approve the launch of Ethereum ETF options developed by Nasdaq.
A survey conducted by The Journal of Financial Planning reveals that over 10% of financial advisors recommended that their clients, who invested about $4.5 trillion in ETFs, also invest in options. Experts believe this measure protects against significant losses in the event of a sharp decline in asset prices. The rising demand for Bitcoin ETF and Ethereum ETF options was also noted. This increases the capitalization of these derivatives, positively affecting the value of most cryptocurrencies.
