مؤشر Coppock هو مؤشر تحليل فنى تم تطويره من قبل Edwin Sedgwick Coppock فى عام 1962، وتم نشره أول مرة فى مجلة Barron. طلبت الكنيسة الأسقفية من صاحب المؤشر تطوير اداة موثوقة للمستثمرين على المدى الطويل يمكن تطبيقها على مؤشر S&P 500.
Coppock(t) = EMA(w,t)[ROC(l,t) + ROC(s,t)], حيث
EMA(w,t) — المتوسط المتحرك الآسى لفترات w;
[ROC(l,t) + ROC(s,t)] — مجموع مؤشرات السرعة التى يتحرك بها السعر لفترات l (طويلة) وفترات s (قصيرة).
وفقاً للنهج الأصلى، مؤشر Coppock يتم حسابه كمتوسط متحرك فترة 10 شهور من مجموع التغير فى معدلات 14 شهر ومعدلات 11 شهر. يتم ملاحظة اشارات المؤشر عندما يغير الرسم البيانى اتجاهه صعودا أو هبوطاً.
تطبيق آخر هام لمؤشر Coppock على الميتاتريدر هو استخدامه عندما يصل لمستوى الصفر. عند تقاطع الرسم البيانى من أسفل لأعلى فذلك إشارة للشراء والعكس صحيح.
يذكر أن Robert W. Colby - وهو محلل فنى مشهور ومؤلف كتاب The Encyclopedia Of Technical Market Indicators - قد أوصى باستخدام هذا المؤشر مع المؤشر المتحرك الآسى فترة 5 أيام.
عندما يتحرك المؤشر المتحرك الآسى EMA على الرسم البيانى لأسفل فذلك إشارة للبيع. والعكس صحيح عندما يتحرك EMA لأعلى فذلك إشارة للشراء. هذه الطريقة تمكن التجار من معرفة قمم وقيعان السعر.
